In My Mailbox (#28) + News

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren.

Right, so you may have realised I've been posting a little less recently. This is mostly because I've started school again, and I'm in the middle of university applications, so things are really stressful at the moment. September and early October probably won't be the most active of months here on the blog, but once I've finished with uni stuff, posts should start becoming more regular again. That being said, I'll still be posting as much as possible during September and October, especially important posts/reviews and things, but I just wanted to let everyone know what was going in case you wonder why I've disappeared for a bit. And now that explanation's over, here's what I got this week! It's everything from my book buying spree:

(This entire series of twelve books was only £9.99 on The Book People. Twelve books for a tenner. Bargain. I already own the first two, but I still couldn't resist. Will probably do a giveaway of the duplicate copies some time soon.)

Bought:
Red Glove (Curse Workers #2) by Holly Black
Once a Witch (Witch #1) by Carolyn MacCullough
Nightshade (Nightshade #1) by Andrea Cremer
Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy #1) by Jennifer Estep
Forgotten by Cat Patrick
Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik
Ten Things We Shouldn't Have Done by Sarah Mlynowski (I much prefer the US cover, but the UK one was cheaper...)
Matched (Matched #1) by Ally Condie
Beast Master vol. 1 by Kyousuke Motomi
Beast Master vol. 2 by Kyousuke Motomi
The Demon King (Seven Realms #1) by Cinda Williams Chima (got the hardback version for £2.69 - I love Amazon Marketplace)

So that's my haul for the week! While I'm happy with everything I bought, I shamefully completely forgot to add Bloodlines to the basket. Bloodlines. Which I've been looking forward to for months. I'm an idiot :P.

What did you get in your mailbox this week?

  6. Aww, I totally understand! Blogging and studying can be really stressful, but don't worry, the blogosphere will always be here for you! What are you studying in uni?

Anyway, WOW, what an amazing haul. I <3ed Matched and Nightshade! Omg, I just got Conspiracy 365: Revenge in the mail, and was slightly shattered because I hadn't read the others yet, so I can't review it. So let me know when your comp is up if you have time? I'd be really interested. :)

    Thanks for sharing!

Wowza Liz, look at all those hot books! I LOVE Forgotten - beautiful novel and omg Luke is the sweetest guy to ever grace paper and ink <3 Yay for Matched!! And Nightshade. Finally you have them. Really want to read Touch of Frost and Epic Fail. And those Conspiracy books look awesome too!

  10. Love Nightshade, if you haven't read that yet you need to! Seriously drop everything read it, then do yourself a favor and buy Wolfsbane because it is even better than Nightshade! Lol sorry my rant is over.

Love that cover for The Demon King!

  18. Oooh! :D You definitely did go on a book buying spree! And you found some amazing ones! I'm kind of jealous that you got Touch of Frost, I can't find it locally anywhere here! I don't want to pay a tonne for shipping (so Amazon's out...unless I make a list of ones to buy to get free shipping lol), plus the cover they have on the Book Depository is really random lol I'm hoping I'll get lucky and find it somewhere! I agree about the Ten Things... cover, I like the other one better. That one's a bit too minimalist for me. :)

I hope you enjoy all of your awesome books from this week, Liz! :D Happy reading, and thanks for stopping by my IMM! :D

  22. That is quite a number of books you got this week! I've only read Matched but I want to read most of them. And can I say how glad I am that you're not being discouraged from going to uni? It really is bad luck that you're the first year of students to deal with the new fees. I'm glad you still think a degree is worth it.

  28. I want to read Epic Fail and The Demon King very, very badly. What's the deal with Cursed Workers series by H. Black? Sounds pretty good. Hey, are you a senior in HS, by the way? Seems like it. I should be getting started on applying right about now. :)
